Who is my Target audience and how I plan to target them with my project.

This Trimester I plan to continue with my story artist role. To do this I will be working towards creating a fleshed out animatic. Likewise, I want to explore my storytelling abilities by creating a story with a deeper character narrative, message, and mood than my past animatics. Henceforth, to make my final project effective I must first consider my audience.

 

Likewise, this week I will be investing:

🌟Who is my Target audience and how I plan to target them with my project.

 

So, then what makes a target audience and why is it important?

Well, often when "Movie Makers start creating a new movie [they start by] targeting a specific audience group or groups. Audience age is one of the essential criteria for the target audience. Some movies are created by targeting the junior audience group. Some movies target teenage audiences, [some] target the mid-age and senior audience group, and some movies are for all. Suppose we could predict whether the upcoming movie would be famous among the target audience group or not. Movie makers would [likewise] be benefited if we could measure the influence of the upcoming movie among all the age groups at the early stage of the movie production. [Henceforth] movie Maker[s] could make necessary changes [and the] outcome of this work could reduce the risk involved in the movie industry" (Sahu et al., 2022).

 

Now, continuing to my actual story. My idea so far is to construct a story about a discontent cloud shepherd that chases after a rouge cloud as she works to stop it from destroying a small town. Considering my target audience, I aim to make my animatic family orientated though I feel I will cater a bit more towards children. This is because I plan to use a Studio Ghibli and Pixar inspired style and narrative. Similarly, both companies make stories catering to a general audience and/or to kids. Though, I want to make the story and message deeper I will still be keeping it child friendly by keeping the base storyline easy to understand but making my character's storyline more complex.

       Audience Attention 👪 Let's start with some questions. What makes up your favourite film? What is it that gets you excited to play your favourite game or visit your favourite stores?  Do you see any patterns?   Despite what your answer is you are part of a target audience.  Let's admit it most products are only as successful as their audience. These audiences are the driving force of what a product is or could be as without an audience there's nobody to sell to. So then, how do we get these so-called audience's attention? Well, typically features like genre, purpose, storytelling, or aesthetics has a role to play. Why does my project exist💭   (Studio Colorido, 2022) "We find meaning in, or give meaning to, such events (in film) by connecting them to other events so that they have a significant place in a narrative framework or causal pattern.
